Q: What is our Alcohol ID Policy?

A: ID every person, every time. An expired ID is not a valid ID. In cases where you have a person who is with another person, you should ID the one who is buying the alcohol AND the second person only if you suspect that they may be asking the person who is buying the alcohol to purchase it for them. If you have two customers who are obviously over 35 and the one buying the alcohol is with another person who is over 35, you do not need to ID the second person.

If you see money exchanged, a younger person going into the beer cooler with an adult who is similar in age, or a person who is younger who carries the product to the counter, you should ID both.

"There is no such thing as a dumb question, except for the question that is not asked."
